That's it. I actually had the same thought myself but having heard nothing of the kind from the list members until your mail I had turned it down. After making a new Custom Dictionary and 'importing' the custom spellings from my former Custom Dictionary - simply by copying the formers contents into a text file and then adding the not known spellings manually - ALL the problems I've reported have gone: - no starting up problems and - opening the program is maybe 20 times faster - keyboard response is absolutely normal - no slowing down - notes are closing immediately - no stalls whatsoever - and there are no more 'hangs' after closing preference window.
