Has anyone else come across the problem of losing part of your new message if you change the Account after you have entered the message text?
I have 7 Accounts, each with its own signature. I often find that after I have created the message text that I want to change the Account that it is to be associated with when sending.
When you change the Account from the pull down list in the ‘From’ entry, the default signature of the new Account overwrites some or all of the message text that I have entered – I think up to the number of lines used by the new signature, starting from the last line of the message text.
I can verify that just changing the signature, but not the Account, by using the Signature button on the button bar doesn’t affect the message text.
My temporary fix is to copy the message text to the clipboard (if I remember) and so that if I do lose message text I don’t have to rely on my memory – what memory? - to recreate the text just paste it back in. But I’d like not to have to resort to the temporary fix.
Any ideas?

I notice that you have removed the double-dash-plus-single-space-plus-carriage-return demarcation line that defines a signature (that’s why I’m stuck with your entire signature in this reply instead of it automatically disappearing when I click Reply). What happens if you put it back in to all your signatures, at the top? Changing accounts will then only remove the old signature, not the message too. I’ve just changed accounts, with different signatures, twice while writing this message and didn’t lose a single line or character. Things are there for a reason, you know! You seem to have shot yourself in the foot by removing the double-dash. Don’t forget the single space after it before you press return.
