Is QuickView crucial?

Is QuickView a crucial piece to using Entourage? I'm almost certain that
it's not, but wanted to check before removing it.
I've found I haven't used it; I thought it might speed up address searches,
but since I always have Entourage running from the moment my Mac starts,
it's a wash.
