I have had similar problems, and discovered that substantially increasing
the memory allocation for Conduit Manager (30MB seems to do it on my G3
Powerbook) allows for the large amount of information being transferred
initially. You may discover several freezes along the way, but check to make
sure that there is increased info on your Palm, re-start, and do it again.
A way to avoid those freezes is to use the Entourage settings on Conduit
manager to just overwrite one database at a time (e.g., Entourage overwrites
handheld on Notes, every other database at "do nothing", then do Addresses,
with everything else at "do nothing", etc.. until you have transferred all
of the information. Then re-set the conduit manager to synchonize all)
