Apparently, neither does the Microsoft Knowledge Base. I ended up searching
MacFixit.com, but there weren't any suggestions there either.

The messages were all there - but I didn't have any access to them as the application
quits as soon as it's launched. I ran across a tip I found on the web - I can't
remember where, I did a Google search on "Entourage error 4359". The tip suggested
that I go into the Office 2001 identities folder > My identity > delete the
preferences file. This tip was suggested after a person had no luck recovering
messages after a complex rebuild. On a whim, I tried it and voil, I was able to open
the application. I still had to re-enter all my account information, but that was a
small price to pay.
Right now I'm using the OS X Public Beta, so I imagine I'll be using Entourage less
and less while I get the hang of it. I will say that I was very, very pleased to
discover that Entourage runs beautifully in the Classic Environment under X. I didn't
notice a significant slow-down in responsiveness. Kudos to the Microsoft: Mac team!
Thanks for the tip Allen. I didn't need it after all, but I'll file it away for
further use.
