Sorry, given the actual relative column width model will remain unchanged,
I won't second your request ...
Think about running E'rage in three pane view, viewing a message with
an overly wide picture attached. Widen E'rages window to view the picture
in its full glory ... would you like short dates to toggle to long dates
now? -- I for mine prefer short dates remaining short.
IMO self adjusting date & time format doesn't harmonize to relative column
width at all, so the E'rage team has been wise to chose static d&f format.
Of cause, personally, I don't like relative column widths at all ... but
that's just different matter.
