Paul has written one, of course :-), I don't know if it's in the usual
E-script repositories but it's fairly short and I copied it from an email
originally,

    tell application "Microsoft Entourage"
set deadMsg to item 1 of ((current messages) as list)
set inFolder to storage of deadMsg
set theSubject to subject of deadMsg
if text 1 thru 4 of theSubject = "Re: " then
set origSubject to text 5 thru -1 of theSubject
            set reSubject to theSubject
        else
set reSubject to "Re: " & theSubject
            set origSubject to theSubject
        end if
set msglst to (every message of inFolder whose subject is
origSubject or subject is reSubject)
        repeat with amsg in msglst
set read status of amsg to read
            delete amsg
        end repeat
    end tell

I modified it slightly to also mark the messages to be deleted as read,
otherwise my Deleted Items folders kept showing large amounts of unread
messages. You can select any message in the thread, it will delete the whole
thread. Sometimes it seems to miss messages that appear to have the same
subject, I haven't investigated why because it seems to happen rarely.

Jim Baskins
