For those on the list, you know that I'm a bozo - but I've stumbled on
something that may help you out if you re-install Entourage.
After re-installation of Office 2001..... Before starting anything up,
you'll notice that there is no 'documents' file. Here's the tip - you
already have your 'identities' backed up. Simply open WORD, and DO NOT SET
any preferences. This alone will produce a 'documents' file. Now quit
Word, and go to the documents file and pull out and trash ' main
identities'. Now, drag your back up file into the Office 2001 identities
folder.
Open up Entourage, and all your data will be there.
The mistake I made was to open Entourage first, product an identities file
with account prefs and such, then I tried to drag in my 'original identities
file'. E'rage would not recognize my original, only the file I had made
when I opened the program.
Confused - unfortunately, I hope you don't do it a couple of times like I
did, but the minute you open E'rage you produce another identity file, and
E'rage doesn't seem to recognize your original.
The tech boys will know more about this.
