The bug you experienced has been identified and fixed.
The fixed version will be made available in the near future.
The bug is directly related to having category name of more than 15
characters.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I *did* have categories whose names were longer
than 15 characters. They were not the categories that were duplicated, but I
did have some. I say "did" because I got impatient and deleted all of my
Entourage categories, created them on the Palm, synched and have been
spending a lot of time re-assigning categories. I hope the Palm synch
conduit will be something that'll be address in a future maintenance
release.
