So long as you never install *anything* on the Windows boxes, they're
relatively stable. (1)

And, once you adapt to the relative clunkiness of the Windows UI, it's not
*that* bad.  But I suffer greatly from noticing how things *should* be and
being dissatisfied when they're different.  So I find using Windows far more
painful than using a Mac (which isn't to say that I don't find parts of the
Macintosh painful...).

(1) But I still find it amusing that it took 3+ years for anyone to notice
that Windows 95 couldn't run for more than 40-some-odd days without
crashing.  When the bug was finally noticed, the universal response was "How
did you get the box to run for 40 days?"
