It's kind of amusing to see how Mac people assume that nobody would
<voluntarily> move to Windows. I tend to think the same way; I've been a Mac
user for about 15 years. (Aside. Bill: "20 years"? You had a Mac in 1981??
You coulda scooped Apple, since it was not introduced till 1984. I presume
you must have had an Apple II or some such prior to 1984.) In my life as a
computer professional, I worked with the alternative vendor, Digital
Equipment (PDP-11 and VAX), and always despised "Big Blue," i.e., IBM. So a
Mac for personal use was a natural. No way I was going to buy an IBM PC.
But it's true. I'm not sure I've ever met anybody who switched from Mac to
Windows without some kind of external pressure. My son, Ben, was a devout
Mac user who switched to PC, primarily because as a grad student Intel gave
him a brand new whiz-bang machine for free. What can you say to compete with
"free"?
