Good OS X news for all you scripters out there, this time from:

AppleScript

Also in the Applications folder is a folder for AppleScript. This has really
grown in recent builds. There is now whole heap of example scripts organised
in subfolders, as well as two apps: Script Editor and Script Runner. Double
clicking on scripts launches the Script Editor application, which will be
familiar to many users of the OS 9 Script Editor. We think it's fairly
impressive that Apple has ported this high-level scripting language over to
OS X so thoroughly without breaking its functionality.

The Script Runner is a small app that runs without an icon in the dock,
instead setting up a small floating window which lists all the scripts in a
user's "Scripts" folder. Clicking on the tiny window drops down the list.
One of the options in the list is "Open scripts folder", so users can easily
add scripts to the folder. We'd also like to see the ability to run scripts
by dragging them onto the Script Runner icon.
