Me too, and I have it set up the same way. But it's by choice, I could have
set it differently (backwards even). "Control-click" would have been a more
accurate description than "right-click", and would suit all set-ups or none.

I can't cope with a single button mouse any more. At work, I have one, and
it's a huge pain to use contextual menus. It means I never do spell-checking
as I type. I'm going to replace it any day now. I can't understand why Apple
didn't make their own optical mouse with more than one button, although it's
to be expected that they wouldn't "legislate" the right button to mean
control-click, for backward compatibility. But you'd think they'd at least
make it possible.
