Joseph, you definitely found the best work-around for the problem without
any scripting. Paul Berkowitz's Open Contact Name E 1.2 AppleScript is
excellent! Or, try my version of same: Find Contact Plus. Both are available
on Applescript Central: <http://www.applescriptcentral.com>
In some instances, Paul's is slightly faster; in others, mine is a lot
faster (particularly if you type in the contact's entire name, like "allen
watson"). Mine also offers you the option of saving the found set of
contacts as a group called "Temp." If you want to keep it, you need to
rename the group. (I just modified it to fix a problem, so will be uploading
v2 to ASC in a few minutes. You can also check my web site, URL below.)
