I think the aversion stems from this: the address pop-up lists, as they
function now, sometimes offer too many address choices to the user.
The inclusion of addresses that are not in the address book seems to be what
is irking most people; why not make it an option in preferences?

I, for one, think that the pop-up menus can be a useful time saver. They
annoyed me at first, but then I started actually _using_ them, instead of
working around them. Now I can usually address new emails with less than
three keystrokes (in the case of entourage-talk, just one: "e").
This is the best email program for Mac, ever. Period.
