Tools --> Accounts --> your account--> Edit --> Options tab --> Allow online
access

That will put an icon of the account in your folder list. Click on it.
Command-click or shift-click to select multiple messages. Click delete
button (or put your cursor on any message, click to "Delete from server on
next connection.") That puts a red X through the online icons of all the
selected messages. Next time you Receive All (or just click cmd-M) they will
all be removed from the server.
