Thanks for the response, Steve.

So there are two failure modes, after pushing the synch button on the Palm
cradle:

1. The modal box from Hot Sync manager comes up and says "Connecting..." and
then just goes away, and then it comes back on again, and goes away again,
and then a few minutes later there's an error message on the phone screen
that the connection couldn't be established, and there's no log entry in the
Hot Sync log.

2. A connection is actually made, some amount of data is transferred
(actually, I've only seen some "Address Book" data transferred), and then it
quits, with the message on both the computer and the phone that "the
connection was interrupted and some of your data was not synchronized."
Under this mode, there is a whole bunch of log data (with verbose logging
on), most of it a listing of ram contents, and then an error message:

Entourage Conduit synchronization failed
"Entourage Conduit" failed (error = #16388)

Meanwhile, Kyocera-Wireless moves to the top of the list for worst customer
support. Minimum one hour on hold, no call-backs, no responses to email.
Anyone considering this phone should DEFINITELY not buy one until this is
fixed.
