I'm trying to do a typical rebuild, but am experiencing a Type 2 crash in
the middle. Here's what's happening.
I first noticed a problem with message lists being out of order. I generally
set my non-mailing list folders to list by date with newest at the top, but
just yesterday I noticed that some messages are out of order. Clicking on
the column header doesn't change/fix it, so I decided to do a typical
rebuild.
Someway through the rebuild (not the first part where it is compacting
contacts and directories, but in the second part where it is working on
messages), the program quits with a Type 2 error.
I decided to trim the database down by archiving all the messages I could,
but I when I try to delete certain messages, the program quits-- no error
message or anything, it just disappears. I tried increasing RAM allocation
to 64MB, but no joy.
I'm running Entourage with Service Release 1.
Any help? I'm hesitant to try advanced rebuild until I have to, because my
recollection is that, while the database is rebuilt, it leaves it "messy".
