Sorry for lack of clarity. You'd think as an ex university tutor I'd know
how to explain something. Shows what 20 years in the real world does for
clarity of thought.

Looking at the above more closely I note that the first non blank line in
the body of the email Entourage receives is the original from header value.
For example the above email is actually from Chris MEARS
What I think I need is an applescript that takes the first non blank line of
text in an email and puts it into the from header. That way my other rules
can process the email properly and I'll be able to reply to the original
sender.
I have discovered I can use Lotus script to deal with the subject.
Again any help or advice appreciated.
