How do you handle a family with multiple people and only one e-mail address?

Here is the scenario: I correspond with John Doe and have created a contact
list entry with John Doe as the display name and <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> as the
e-mail address. Once in a while I also correspond with his wife Jane Doe so
have created another contact list entry with Jane Doe as the display name
and the same e-mail address. And sometimes I correspond to them as a
family, so I created a third contact list entry with John-Jane Doe as the
display name and the same e-mail address. Is there another way to handle a
family like this or would the great MBU developers be interested in devising
a better way?

Sending mail works pretty good. I just start to type the display name that
I want and then select the right one from the drop down list. However, I
have run into one issue when I try to respond to a message from John Doe.
Often the reply will be addressed to Jane Doe instead of John Doe. The
original message could have a "Return-Path:" header which is being used for
the reply rather than the "From:" header, but then it looks like Entourage
is searching my contact list (or maybe the address cache that is hard to
clean out) to find the first matching entry for the e-mail address and then
using that for the display name. As you can see Jane comes before John so I
have to be on my toes and correct that. Since there is no way to edit the
display name, I have to delete the To: entry and enter a new one for John.
This is a little annoying.

Anybody have any ideas for workarounds? Is there a better way to handle a
family with multiple people but only one e-mail address? The Post Office
seems to do fine with different names and the same street address. Of
course as we move to the technology age, we sometimes have to take a step or
two backwards in flexibility.

Comments? Ideas? Anyone?

   Jim
