I wish it were this simple. In the past, when this has happened to me, I've
verified that no scripts were running, (I only have a couple of rules tied
to scripts and they rarely fire, but I disabled them as well) quit all
applications, restarted just Entourage and the problem persisted. It seems
that once it starts doing it, only a restart of the entire machine clears
it. I do see the temporary *normal* slowdowns when a digest is bursting or a
script is running but the problem Mac Carter was talking about is different,
it slows down the whole app and makes typing, even as slow as I am, very
frustrating and it persists until restart.

It happens here on a 7600 with a 400mhz G3 upgrade and an UltraWide-SCSI
hard disk as well as on a Rev A iMac, neither of which would set speed
records but Entourage's operations are normally very zippy on each.
