I am learning to use Entourage and have searched every where I could find
for an answer to this problem.
As an Emailer user, I found what I had been lead to expect in Entourage.
My friend, who is being transferred to Entourage, was a Eudora user. He
has 1500 records in his Eudora address book.
We first tried just opening Entorage and seeing the general layout. I
found how to create new entries in module and set up his internet
connection.
Problem #1: the date appears very strange today was
"07July11November2001"? There is more to that string if you try to create
a new calendar entry. I could not find any way to specify the date
display to get it to be different.
We then imported his Eudora address book to Entorage.
Problem #2: I then tried to create a new email and it opened to a large
blank document labelled "untitled" but nothing more happened. No place to
address, etc. I was not able to close the window, I could not switch to
another program or the finder, I tried to force quit Entourage, but the
buttons in the force quit box did not appear. I was forced to restart.
I gave Entourage double, then triple memory and the problems remain. I
tried rebuilding Entourage and the problems remain.
He is using OS 9, has plenty of memory, plenty of free hard drive space,
we have done this with only Entourage open, nothing else.
