The alias method works fine for me! I've been using it for a long time
without problems. I think that what you need to do is this:

1. On your System drive, in the Documents folder, make sure that there IS NO
folder called Microsoft User Data (MUD).

2. Make an alias of the real MUD folder, move it to the Documents folder of
the system drive, and rename it to "Microsoft User Data" (no "alias" at the
end).

Then, relaunch Entourage. I'm almost sure it will now find the correct MUD
folder. It <cannot> create a new one in SystemDisk:Documents if you already
have an alias there bearing that name.
