You can move your OS 9 Documents folder anywhere, and put an alias to it on
the root of your OS 9 partition. I keep mine on a separate Data partition.
MUD will be found. I also keep an alias of my OS 9 System folder on the data
partition, although I don't think it's really necessary: it may help with
icons and such-like when rebuild the desktops. (NOTE: you can't do this with
your user's Documents folder in OS X: you must leave the blessed Documents
folder in place or it will be recreated. But you don't have to put anything
in it except an alias to files or to your other (i.e. OS 9) Documents
folder, wherever it may be. That's what I do, and everything works fine.

I also have my Applications (Mac OS 9) folder on a separate Apps partition,
plus all my 3rd-party OS X apps in an Application (OS X) folder on the same
partition, with aliases in the appropriate partitions.
