Does this mean I could sync to an calendars provided
online by .NET-powered ISPs or similar third party iCal
based online calendars?

Half a year ago, it was frustrating for me to see
my domain hoster and even one of my mail hosters
rolling out those services and not being able to take
advantage of them. At that time, Windoze only :-/
