> I am not sure how the Junk Mail filter works. Nothing seems to happen. I > have set a rule: I suggest you open the Help menu and search on "junk mail." Here's the main entry: About the Junk Mail Filter Junk mail, also called spam, is mail that is sent to many people or groups, regardless of whether the recipients want to receive it. If you sometimes receive junk mail, use the Junk Mail Filter to automatically identify and manage such messages. The Junk Mail Filter uses known criteria to classify messages you receive as junk mail. For example, if you receive a message that includes signs of a forged e-mail address in the From box, the Junk Mail Filter assigns that message to the Junk category, and displays it in the Message list in the color assigned to the Junk category. You can specify actions to perform on possible junk mail, including marking such messages as read and running an AppleScript. If you want to apply further actions to junk messages, such as filing them in a certain folder, you can create a rule for such actions. Because it is possible for non-junk messages to be mistakenly classified as junk, always review the messages in the Junk category before deleting them. To ensure that messages are not mistakenly classified as junk, you can take the following precautions: Add message senders to the Address Book. The Junk Mail Filter never assigns messages from contacts in your Address Book to the Junk category. Specify domains that you wish to exempt from the Junk Mail Filter. When you enable the Junk Mail Filter, you can list domains that you trust. For example, if you type "microsoft.com," a message from a person with an e-mail address that contains "microsoft.com" is never classified as junk. Use the Mailing List Manager to manage messages from a mailing list. Messages that are handled by a mailing list rule are never classified as junk. -- Add me to Palm/Visor: http://signature.coola.com/?[EMAIL PROTECTED] Allen Watson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> XNS name: =Allen Watson Applescripts for Outlook Express and Entourage: <http://homepage.mac.com/allenwatson/> -- To unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To search the archives: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/>
