Yes; apparently there is a 2 GB limit on database size, although that may soon be removed. Hold on to your database! Microsoft is working on this problem and (with another such case) says it may be possible to recover the data. It won't be for at least several weeks. Until then: Start a new identity, and try to do without your 2 GB of old mail. :-(
