Because of the way IMAP works, we had to restrict the MLM to only operate on new messages entering the Inbox for the first time. Otherwise everytime you selected another folder, the MLM would run on its contents and possibly move messages around inappropriatly.
A workaround is to sort on the To: column (Ctrl-click the column headers to add To if needed), and manually select and drag the list messages. You can also make an custom IMAP rule to do the same. -dave -----Original Message----- From: Jim Warthman [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, January 15, 2002 12:24 PM To: Entourage:mac Talk Subject: Apply Mailing List Rules to Old Messages? Hello! I have built a variety of Mailing List Rules using the Mailing List Manager, and they seem to work very well for newly arrived e-mail. I would like to run these rules against "old" messages that were in my Inbox prior to creating the rules. When I select a set of messages, and issue the "Message/Apply Rules" command, nothing happens. Well, at least my Mailing List Rules don't seem to run. Is it possible to apply these rules to "old" messages? (I hope I'm not missing anything obvious... ;-) Thanks! -- Jim Sent using the Entourage X Test Drive. -- To unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> archives: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.letterrip.com/> old-archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/> -- To unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> archives: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.letterrip.com/> old-archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/>
