There is a "dummies" book for Office 2001. I don't recommend it. I encourage you to spend the extra bucks on "Office 2001: The Missing Manual" in the O'Reilly series (just as I also recommend the "Missing Manual" book for OS X among the several volumes already published--although the as-yet-unpublished "Black Book" by Mark Bell (not the "little black book" by someone else) looks like it may be good). The missing manual books seem to be well-written, thorough, and very informative. As a "power-user" I was impressed that both of these books taught me several new tricks in the first chapter...and I was also pleased with the easily understood presentation of all the material. I recommend the books for both newbies and long-time Mac Office devotees. There are no long-time OS X devotees, but the OS X book is in-depth enough to please almost everyone except a long-time Unix devotee.
