Most of them do now because they usually hook directly to the modem (DSL,
Cable, whatever it is, as long as it is an RJ-45/ethernet cable).

Personally, I would *never* hook a Windows machine directly to the internet,
and recommend those routers to everyone who has a high speed connection.
I've pushed hard here in our area to get @home to recommend them for home
networks, and it sounds like they have listened because they now recommend
them, at least in our area.
