They need to listen on the USB port for someone to click the hotysnc button.
For that they probably need a kernel extension.

Yeah. I can't wait. You may be left holding your breath for a while though.
PocketPC phones are GSM only right now, and the US GSM carriers have a lot
of network infrastructure to build, patch, and fill in.
