This is strange. I've been trying to find any way in which I could duplicate
what you see, but I haven't been successful. I would have thought a rebuild
would solve it. Maybe you have to go the more drastic route, and reinstall
the software.

Do you see the same behavior with a freshly installed version of the
software with a clean database? That is, if you install the software on
another computer, do not import anything, and create a new contact, do you
see the summary info?

Or maybe an even easier way to test if it is your software, or the database
would be to create a new identity with your current software and try
creating a new contact in that. A new identity should create a new folder
with a fresh empty database. I would think if you still experience the
problem, it is not your database, but some other component of the software
that is corrupted. Then, I would wipe it clean and reinstalll.
