That is what to try: a fresh identity. it sounds as if you have a badly
corrupted identity, Richard. All those imports from "strange" programs and
various measures taken to compensate for their weird data may have done odd
things to your database. It is unfortunate that Advanced Rebuild doesn't
seem to be fixing it. Possibly an MS person may ask you if you wish to send
them the database so they can investigate methods of rebuilding it.  Nobody
else has these problems.
