I had talked to Nate at MW/SF and he had said to submit my list of "issues"
that I'm having with EvX so here it goes. Some may be known issues. Others
may be stuff that has been covered. Some are also features that would be
nice. I'm just copying and pasting from my list as I had noticed them.
1. font in notes changes after save
ex: I like to use a different font than Veranda so I changed it to
Palatino. I'll write any amount of text and after I save, the font for any
new text at the end of the note will be set back to Veranda.
2. checks mail when no network (check box for only if connected in schedules
is checked)
3. display number of unread messages on icon (and being able to select which
folders are included/excluded when rules are used for sorting)
4. junk mail rules seem to get applied before the regular rules (not sure
how "Mark Junk as Junk" rule interacts with junk mail rules); would be nice
for regular rules to be able to override junk mail rules
5. time zones (start of event in one time zone and end in another)
this was a major "issue". I had wanted to be able to, in my calendar,
set individual time zones for the start and end of an event (such as flying
from the east coast to the west coast and being able to set each time in the
local time)
6. getting items moved to the trash to be read
7. can't modify much on recurring calendar items
I would like to be able to modify everything
8. calendar doesn't remember that resized view of little calendars when
closing window
It remembers it as long as there is at least one main window open; as
soon as all of the main windows are closed, it forgets
9. import had a hard time with my Eudora files (brought some in as empty
messages, or did weird things, etc)
this doesn't matter for me anymore but it's probably something that
needs to be looked at anyway
10. can't switch identities in Entourage when Excel, Word or PP is open
11. when checking mail, sometimes other programs get chunky (better than
when Eudora checked mail so it's a step forward for me but still not as good
as it should/could be)
I thought we have pre-emptive multi-tasking here. I have a 550 TiBook.
It should have no problem checking mail and a movie playing
12. can't select non continuous text
word can do it!! :) nothing like peer pressure
13. saves html with .htm extension
being able to pick the extension would be really nice; I prefer .html
saving it as xml would be a nice option too
14. calendar events don't carry over to next day properly
if an event starts at 11p and ends 3 the next morning, the calendar only
shows until midnight
15. can't save as web page over an existing save; since you're going to want
to replace the previous save
16. work with Exchange server(s) (including full calendar support, etc)
our university uses Exchange
17. speed (such as but not limited to scrolling and changing views)
18. the button in the right hand corner of the window title bar that will
scroll the stuff below the window title bar up
this is really "useful" when doing a new e-mail message; rolling up the
send now, etc buttons, the from:, etc fields and the formatting stuff
19. EvX not interfere with the DVD player
If I leave EvX open but have all the main windows closed and I then
start playing a DVD when EvX goes to check mail, the window showing the
status of checking mail shows in front of the movie...very annoying
20. still working on #20 :p
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
