Thanks Allen, I don't see it as a significant problem - it's the technique I
currently use with Palm Desktop: make the landline format the default, and
manually format the mobile phone numbers.

At least good old Palm Desktop lets me *create* the appropriate landline
format! EvX allowing me to edit the list of formats would be all that's
needed.
