A workaround would be to sort your messages by the date RECEIVED, not the
date SENT. To add a received column, ctl-click on any of your column
headings and select 'received' on the menu that pops up. Unchecking any item
removes it from the view. You can also drag your columns to any position, so
you can list them in any order you want.

Pretty slick.
