I am in a new task window, click on “Due Date” or “Reminder,” then click on the little calendar icon to the right to have it show a calendar for me to select the date. When I click on the little calendar icon, it very briefly shows the calendar, then the calendar disappears and I need to click on the calendar icon again. I know this is a small inconvenience, but it would be nice if I didn’t always have to do this extra step. Any ideas?

The calendar should only disappear if you actually select a date. In which case you don't need to open it again. Are you saying is disappears spontaneously before you've had a chance to select a Due date?
Yes. After checking “date due” I click on the tiny “blurred” calendar icon once and it becomes the large calendar which is available to select a date. I expect that calendar to stay visible so I can click on an actual date in the month. It is visible only for an instant, then disappears. I click on the tiny blurred calendar icon a second time and the larger calendar appears and stays there so I can select a date.
