This doesn't bother me, either. It's easy enough to do with the keyboard by
just typing command-shift-o twice (in EX, forgot what the key command was in
E2001 - command-y?)

What *does* bother me in "unread only" mode is the same thing that bothered
me in E2001, I reported to this list, and it wasn't changed (this wasn't a
problem in OE). If you have mail that is sorted into folders by filters and
set to display unread only, when you go to the folder the list view is set
by the last message that came in, not the top message in the folder. There
is no quick and easy way to start reading from the top of the list without
manually pushing the scroll wheel up and then clicking the up arrow to make
sure that when you click on the list, you are starting with the first
message. I like reading messages in date order, sorted by subject which is
the way they fall into the folder. Would be great if I could use the
keyboard to go to the folder and start reading without having to hit the
scroll bar all the time.
