Opps! Sorry Barry, you are correct. I thing I was mistakenly extrapolating
the ultimate _vision_ of the MS office suite to become, someday, totally
cross-platform compatible the way may other mainstream apps have become
such as Excel, Word, and many Adobe products such as PhotoShop, GoLive,
etc.

I stand corrected. I guess my frustration in not being able to jump
between these two platforms is affecting my brain. I love my MAC, but I
just can't figure out any feasible way to "share" the Entorage/Outlook
database the way some other data is able. Believe me, I do understand the
mind boggling extremes which must exist at the coding level and I could
not even begin to contemplate tackling their commonality.

Oh well. Just thought someone might have figured out a way to share the
data but I certainly can understand what the programmers must be up
against.

Where on earth (or even on the web) did you see MS make a promise
like that? All the official words I have seen come out of MS have
stated that Entourage & Outlook are two completely different &
separate entities. I have never seen anything to suggest they are
attempting (or wish to attempt to) bring the two together.

Did a search in the archives but came up with nothing about any
possibility of MicroSoft delivering on their promise to make Office
fully cross-platform between the MAC (Entourage) and the PC
(Outlook) versions.

Even with the release of MAC OFFICE OSX there is no way to share the
main database between MAC and PC other than the dreaded and utterly
hobbled importing/exporting routines which lack full translation
between the two platforms.

Does anyone know of a third party conversion utility that can fully
translate all of the subtle nuances between these two platforms, or
has anyone heard any word of MicroSoft fulfilling their promise
finally come through and deliver a common format in the near future
the way Excel and Word have for some time now ?
