Honestly, I'm not sure about what triggers it, other than changing the sig from the popup menu. It wipes out all the text back to a certain; for me, this last time wiped out a huge message, but it did leave some quoting at the top. And I don't think it always happens. But it did occur under 2001, and it has happened to me a couple of times now in EvX. Usually, I remember to save a draft before I change the sig on a long message so that this doesn't bite me. I think it's been discussed here before.
