I attached a Word document that I had saved without a file extension...

Checked the box in the pop down menu to "append file name extensions"...

Sent the email off to a PC user...

And was informed that the attachment arrived with no .doc extension.

So, does the "append file name extensions" option work only if the file has
been saved with the extension?

I had somehow gotten the impression that this feature was intended to _add_
the extension at the last opportunity if one hadn't done so previously.
