I forgot – in what folder do you put new applescripts for Entourage X?  (I look in “Help” and it didn’t say).  Thanks.
Richard

Hi Richard,

Put them in the
DOCUMENTS: MICROSOFT USER DATA:
ENTOURAGE SCRIPT MENU ITEMS folder

The Documents folder is usually found in USERS:USERNAME:DOCUMENTS

Right. Each User has his/her own Documents folder (even if there's only one person using the computer). The full path is:

[OS X Hard Disk]/Users/[Your UserName]/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Entourage Script Menu Items

If you're using the default setup of just one disk partition with both OS 9 and OS X, you'll have the OS 9 Documents folder on the root of you hard disk, and if you have or had Entourage 2001 there will be a Microsoft User Data folder in there too. But that's not the right one for OS X.

Or, if someone set you up with several disk partitions, the OS X MUD folder might really be residing anywhere, but there would have to be an alias to it in the correct place in that path above, and it will get you there just as if that's where the folder really is.

I think you'd been using scripts already in Entourage X, Richard, hadn't you? Have you had to reinitialize and start all over once again? It might be a good idea to use multiple partitions to avoid losing all your data when this happens to you, although I imagine you have a good backup method in any case. I'm wondering if just maybe your hard disk needs replacement too - hasn't this happened to you more than once?
