When I save email messages as text documents, I want them to open in BBEdit, my preferred text editor.
In Entourage X (test drive version), when I save a message as a text document, it has the creator type for unknown application: '????'. If I save without a filename extension, OS X Finder sees it as a C header and opens it in Project Builder. If I save with a ".txt" extension, the Finder associates the document with TextEdit. Is there any way to set Entourage so it saves text documents with BBEdit's creator type? I have read that the Finder "Get Info" window can be used to set the application binding for all documents of a given file type. But when I changed the "Bind this item to" popup menu setting, the binding would not stick, and reverted to <no specific application>. Am I missing something, or is this just another example of the OS X metadata mess? -- Julian Vrieslander <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent using the Entourage X Test Drive. -- To unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> archives: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.letterrip.com/> old-archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/>
