I have a similar annoyance sometimes.

The red squiggly line will appear under a word that I know is correctly
spelled, and when I Ctrl-click, I don't get a Spell-check contextual menu
but the more general one with all the activated plug-ins. Re-typing the word
will sometimes remove the squiggly line.

Right click (if you like me have a uber-useful two buttoner)

You'll have my two button mouse over my deaad body, buddy, it's a must for
photoshop...
