The schedule “Empty Deleted Items Folder” is set to run on quit. When I quit and then relaunch Entourage, the folder is not empty. Neither does running the schedule manually. If I select all in the folder and then click the trash icon, the messages are deleted. This behavior persists after a database rebuild?
Is this a bug? A “feature” that I need to turn off?
Please, please, everyone; try to remember to state what version of OS & Office you are using. It makes it so much easier to give relevant advice when we know your environment.
This is a 'known issue' with the released version of Entourage X.
I would expect that MS will be addressing this issue in the first service
release.
In the mean time, the work round is to either: run the 'empty trash' command
several times or, open the trash, select all & delete again - the messages
will permanently disappear.
