My eyes are buggy from searching through applescriptcentral for something
that will let me generate and/or print a list of all messages in a folder (I
just want the identifying information, NOT the whole messages). What I would
like is to print the message list, but have not been able to find a way to
have Entourage print it. Primarily I need the from, date/time sent (local
time), subject, to (truncated if it is long), and indication of attachment.

What I am doing is dragging some of my old folders to the desktop to create
an mbox type file. And I would like to have a list of the messages in that
mbox to refer to rather than re-importing to find what is in it. My current
message file is 1.24 GB and I need to archive some of the older stuff.

An excel or word table would be ideal so that I could do various sorts to
enhance locating the messages I might be searching for.

Yes, I know I could try John Carlsen's Email Archive program, but I think I
would just be trading one large entourage database that complicates backup
and can become unstable for one large FMP database that will complicate
backups and can become unstable. I think I could create separate databases
like the separate mbox files I am creating, but it sounds like more hassle
for data that I don't need to review often and maybe never review.

Does anyone know of a capability or script to generate such a list for
identifying the messages in a folder?

Thanks

   Jim
