Sherman, I had and still have the same problem you describe below before and after the updates, so I am not sure if that is related. Do you happen to check an IMAP account with ErageX (live sync enabled should be very 'toxic')? The best 'cure' so far is to quit ErageX before I sent my PB G4 to sleep.
