Understood -- but when the QuickFilter says "To contains..." that implies that the email address is one of the fields that is searched. After all, while it is possible to have a recipient with an email address but no name listed, it's not possible to have a name but no email... Same goes for the standard Find dialog. I'm not asking for a search of the contents or the source... that's what the Advanced find is for. I'm asking for a search of "To" or "From." >So, no, it's no different in Entourage X. It's not a bug: that's how >it works. I guess I would disagree with you on this one; I consider a "To contains..." filter that doesn't check the recipient's email address to be buggy ;) >Now that you, what is so hard about using Advanced Find if >you want to look for email addresses? Because I want to use a QuickFilter? ;) But in all seriousness, the implication of the QuickFilter is that you can quickly search for a message to/from a certain address. Not checking the email address for such a filter is illogical and dramatically reduces the utility of the QuickFilter. Advanced Find is *extremely* useful... but for such a simple search, it takes more steps, involves more windows, etc. In short, it's not a QuickFilter. I think this is pretty clear, and a fair criticism of the current functionality of the QuickFilter -- and judging by the number of people who emailed me off-list to respond to my question, I'm not the only one who considers it a shortcoming. -- To unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> archives: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.letterrip.com/> old-archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/>
