I've had two minor things going on for a while that perhaps people on the
list can help with. Both are related to the fact that I've switched from a
POP account to IMAP.

First, when new mail arrives in a POP account I get the new mail sound. I
like it. Now, when new mail "arrives" with my IMAP setup, I don't get the
new mail sound. I'm assuming this is because new mail is not "arriving" --
even though I do have the option to download completely all mail in the
Inbox (an IMAP account preference). It's not a biggie, but is there any way
to get back that new mail sound when new mail appears on the server?

Second, and more annoying: I have a PowerBook. I keep Entourage running all
the time (I keep the PB running all the time), and simply close the lid when
I'm not working. I also have DSL at home.

When I open the lid to work, if a mail-check schedule is due to trigger, it
does so apparently before my connection is live, and I get and error message
that mail could not be checked at this time. This happens almost EVERY time
that I wake up the PowerBook. If I immediately check mail, everything is
fine -- it's just that brief moment during which the schedule first triggers
and the connection is not ready yet.

Is there anything that I can do about this? FWIW, I have toggled the Live
Sync function and that doesn't seem to matter. I typically keep Live Sync
turned off.

On another note: the text smoothing with SR1 and 10.1.5 is just gorgeous --
not just in Entourage but also in Word and PowerPoint. And Entourage does
seem snappier to me.

Great job, MBU!!! (Now if I could only say the same about IE!)
