Yeah, I'm using IMAP, so thanks. > You have seriously misunderstood the so-called dangers of doing an Advanced > Rebuild. Well, if you say that there's no danger to my locally-saved data, then the danger at least must be small, which makes me happy. I did do an advanced rebuild a while ago which lost a lot of messages in local folders. The impetus for the rebuild had been that message text was showing up in the wrong messages. I'd open one e-mail and have lots of text from e-mail in completely different folders. Many (or maybe all) of these messages were lost. Plus, Entourage 'help' warns you that some data may be lost in an advanced rebuild, without specifying which type of data; hard to glean from that that they only meant links. The vast majority, over 99.9 percent of e-mail is stored in local folders, so that's the only thing I'm worried about. I'll probably try an advanced rebuild based on your recommendation. So, would you say it's not necessary for me to adhere to my meticulous schedule of dragging out individual mailboxes to the finder to back up all my messages? Do you think simply backing up the Entourage database is enough? Also, I can't see a difference in dragging versus option-dragging my IMAP messages to local folders. What's the difference supposed to be? Does this list have an archives? I couldn't find one.
